The 2004 Presidential Election
from an Energy Perspective
1 Nov 2004

First of all, I want to recognize that not everyone reading this article is from the U.S. Although this article may most directly affect those living here, I want to assure you that EVERYONE READING is affected by the 2004 U.S. presidential vote and that we can all take part in bringing the best possible out of the situation.

The fact is, people in every country spend a lot of time complaining about their government, resenting their government, even hating their government. And with all the shortcomings of government, it’s no big secret why. The problem is, our attitudes unfortunately reflect our poor understand of the phenomenon of energy.

When we hold ill will toward our governments, whether elected or not, we actually send a negative energy stream. That may seem a very subtle point to you, and it generally is on an individual basis. But in the U.S., for instance, the president carries the energy streams of 300 million people. That is not subtle at all.

If only 1 in 5 people cared enough to send an energy stream at all, and roughly half of those were disappointed with the president, there are still 30 million negative energy streams that the president needs to deal with. This is an ENORMOUS thing and actually affects the president in his work.

There is NOTHING wrong with rationally discussing the pros and cons of a president. There is NOTHING wrong with working to remove a president from office and supporting a challenger. The problem comes up, though, when you attach negative energies to this work through strong emotions.

The ONLY emotion EVER worth sending anywhere is love. (In fact, I’ll talk later about the difference of the emotion love and the spiritual fact of love, but for now the term creates the needed image.) If those same 30 million people sent love to the president — through prayers, meditation, or whatever — regardless of your rational opinion about the president, they could in fact help to bring greater light and wisdom to him. The hope is that, regardless of his current positions, he could improve his stance on any given subject as a result.

The same is the case with any national leader or government. Work for change? Yes, if you see a need for change. But send love to the government all the while and you will be doing your nation far more good.

Now, regarding the 2004 election, there is a substantial polarity in the U.S. that needs to be addressed. This has been in place since before the 2000 election, but was exacerbated by 9/11. Today, there is a great deal of hatred for President Bush because of his response to that tragedy. I think it is a tragedy that we have sent so much hate in response to his choices.

No, I am not condoning his choices. I will leave it up to you to decide whether he chose well. But by sending hatred — a very real and potent hatred — in Washington, many people have made the situation worse without even knowing it or intending to do so.

With this election, I am asking that you take the time — even if just 5 minutes — to pray or meditate or otherwise send love and positive energy to BOTH candidates, to the United States as a whole, and to the world as a whole. Hold the energy of peace, whichever candidate wins. Understand that the world is only worse off if you are negatively charged by the results, but that the world is improved if you are positively charged regardless of results.

This is not a large group, but it can be a potent one. (I hope you will tell your friends and family about it so we can become stronger still in instances like this.) Please, make your commitment today to hold peace through tomorrow and in the coming months of reaction to whomever is chosen.

One final thought: I know that a lot of people in the US feel that their vote doesn’t matter. It DOES. Even if you feel that the process is purchased in advance (a worse-case scenario), the ENERGY of your vote does matter. Your presence there says that we have not yet given up on this country and that we will fight for it until the end.

The more we can hold our energy up, the more positive results we will see that seem to come out of the blue. This is a huge topic that we won’t cover today, but please keep it in mind.
