Thoughts on the "Ideal Diet"
The real purpose of Reiki, of course, is to bring greater health to people. Now, that’s not what this whole article is about, but I’ll quickly address that point.
Reiki, as you may remember, works on the subtle physical or energetic aspect of the human. This is actually part of the physical creation, but it is only on the verge of being demonstrated as real by science. (Science has given this field at least one name: Zero Point Energy — a universal energy that they are trying to tap into for the sake of unlimited energy sources that would replace fossil fuels, nuclear energy, and so on.)
This is the field in which we are all literally connected in a pysical sense, even while our dense physical bodies (comprised of solids, liquids, and gasses) are definitely separate. This reality is what allows someone like me to transmit energy healing long distance.
This energy can have profound effects on your dense physical body, but it can also have little or no effect if your dense physical body is not in a proper condition to receive the energy. For instance, your chakra system (which is the blueprint of your energy body) transmits energy to your physical body by means of the glands; if you are not supporting your gland system with appropriate nutrients, they may not correctly bring that energy into your body.
Likewise, if you spine is out of alignment, it may not be able to accurately carry energetic messages through your body. This is at least in part why chiropractic is an important part of modern medicine.
So realistically, if you want the most benefits possible from Reiki, you need to support your physical body so that Reiki can ALSO support your physical body!
Because of this, I sometimes writes articles here on health and nutrition. You may already know some of what I share, but I'll bet some of it will shock the heck out of you. Did you know, for instance, that some people eat manure to cure cancer???
Of course, when appropriate, I will put my own spin on things — not changing the facts, but explaining why, from an energetic perspective, I believe things are as they are.
On Eating Well
I’ll begin this whole topic by sharing a couple thoughts on the "Ideal Diet." The ideal diet is something everyone wants to know and that many people claim to have found. They then write a book about it and hope to make a lot of money doing so. If those books help a lot of people, I’m all for them.
But I think we’re a long way from understanding the ideal diet, which I would assume is something that’s supposed to be the best for everyone.
In my own view, we have to come up with something that I plan to pursue during my lifetime — and that is a solid understanding of the most basic health principles provided in such a way that each person can determine the best possible diet for his or her body type, environment, and even era!
For instance, we already know that people of different ages go through various hormonal changes and have different nutrient requirements. You may have read a book teaching you how to eat according to your blood type. Other books suggest you need to eat according to your metabolism type. I believe all of these and probably other factors need to be considered for an INDIVIDUAL’S ideal diet.
Heat and cold, city and country, population, local foods available … these are probably all factors that need to be considered as well. And as you know, food today is much different from food 100 years ago because our soil has largely been sapped of its nutrients (thus our vegetables and meats are as well) and because we put pesticides on much of what we grow. (Don’t think that organic is blameless, but it’s definitely a terrific step!)
This of course brings up the need for supplements, but did you know that one of the supplements you take RIGHT NOW may be nothing more than toxic waste from the film industry? In a future article, I’m going to talk with you more about supplements. What are the pros and cons? What do you need to be aware of? What should you take, what should you avoid?
In any case, all of these points suggest that there is NOT just one ideal diet. But there are certainly principles we can follow when choosing for ourselves, and if you’ll join me in future articles, I’ll share more of what I know on this topic.
